01. Annual General Meeting(AGM)

The major activity of The Nigerian Society for Virology (NSV) is the annual general meeting / scientific conference.
The 2nd annual general meeting will take place at the University of Calabar International Conference Center on September 17-20, 2019.
At the meeting, you can:
Learn about cutting-edge research in virology
Interact with other Scientists interested in virology
Job network
Attend educational and career development workshops
Develop leadership and presentation skills

02. World Hepatitis Day: Saturday, 28th July of every year

The World Hepatitis Day (WHD) is 28th July of every year. This is a day endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to bring the global community under a single theme to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis and to influence real change. Hepatitis is one of four disease-specific global awareness days officially endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

03. World AIDS Day. December 1st, 2019. Sunday, 1 December

World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year. It's an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day.
NSV has a standing committee for WAD. The full plan for this event shall be released in October.

04. 2019 AGM/scientific conference

The 2019 AGM/scientific conference is billed for September 17-20, 2019.
Venue: University of Calabar International conference center.
This is a forum for all Virologists, microbiologist, doctors and all other scientists to interact.

Interact with other scientists interested in virology
Job network
Attend educational and career development workshops
Develop leadership and presentation skills

Provide support for other activities of the Nigerian Society for Virology

05. Attend our training / workshops for 2018

We have two training/workshops for interested virologists and other members of the scientific community. These are:
Bioinformatics Training/Workshops (May 21-24, 2019)
Data management/ Biostatistics Training/Workshops (August 8-10, 2019)

SEMINAR
Our seminar for this year is billed for Wednesday August 21st, 2019.
The Seminar theme is: Emerging infectious Diseases(EIDs) and re-emerging infectious Diseases (RE-EIDs) in Nigeria: Finding a functional protocol.
Guest Speaker: Professor C. I. Mboto Professor of Medical Microbiology and Virology and President of Nigerian Society for Virology.
